I cant believe it was just Arashi’s 1st time on this huge music show in Japan. I must say it was worth the wait then! haha.. Arashi’s performance was just so powerful and just so much fun watching! Took some screencaps! Ok took LOTS of screencaps. haha
Oh i loved how Matsujun went to shake hands with the judges.. clever huh! haha.. Also LOVE their 2SEC changing of red to white costume.. i am still flabbergasted at how they did it.. honestly HOW??? haha.. Oh yeah, Arashi was on the White team.. and guess what.. the White Team won! haha YOSH!

WOWOWOOWOWOOWOWOOW!!! What an amazing and wonderful year for Arashi!!! I mean what a SUPER WONDERFUL YEAR for them! They’ve just got it all.. they’ve got.. Being number 1 in everything is the first ever in history in the oricon charts.. superb man.. just superb! I mean who else has got top 3 singles of the year.. OH and also top 5th single too.. AND top album of the year OH AND top Music DVD of the year.. OH and not just top but also 2nd Music DVD of the year.. no one.. no one.. BUT ARASHI of coz!

Counting sales of singles, albums, music DVDs, and music Blu-ray Discs, Arashi grossed a total of more than 14.46 billion yen. At #2 this year was EXILE, who topped the list in 2008 with 19.58 billion yen in total sales.
In single sales, Arashi had the #1, #2, #3, and #5 releases, with “Believe / Kumori Nochi, Kaisei” in front at nearly 657,000 units sold. The only other artists to occupy the top three spots were Pink Lady in 1978 and Hikaru Genji in 1988. Arashi are the first to have four of the top five, as well as the first to hold the top two spots in back-to-back years.
Their “All the BEST! 1999-2009” album sold over 1.43 million copies. In DVD sales, they were #1 and #2 with “5×10 All the BEST! CLIPS 1999-2009” (591,000) and “ARASHI AROUND ASIA 2008 in TOKYO” (428,000).

Currently celebrating their 10th anniversary, Johnny’s Entertainment group Arashi has seen their popularity skyrocket in the past year. It seems they have no intention of slowing down as they have been added to the lineup for NHK’s Red and White Singing Contest.
Their newest single ‘My Girl’ has also become a hit, successfully earning them the top 4 spots on this year’s Oricon singles chart with the highest first week sales. ‘My Girl’ has reached number 3 on the charts, just after ‘Ashita no Kioku / Crazy Moon’ and ‘Believe / Kumorinochi Kaisei’. The fourth spot also belongs to them with their previous single ‘Everything’. They seem to have effortlessly dominated the sales in the singles chart for 2009.
In addition, fans from all over the world were thrilled when they announced their appearance on NHK’s Red and White Singing Contest. It is the first time that Johnny’s Entertainment will be having four groups perform on the show. Arashi’s popularity has continued to rise within this year, especially riding on the success of individual projects from all five members. To be invited to perform at the 60th Red and White Singing Contest during their 10th year seems very appropriate.

“VS Arashi” has been on the air since April 2008. Each episode features Arashi competing against different guest celebrities in a variety of games, such as “Falling Pipe” and “Cliff Climb.”
The show will air in its new time slot starting this October.

Arashi member Masaki Aiba (26) is set to take on his first lead role in a drama series this fall. He will star in TV Asahi’s “My Girl,” his first series since “Yankee Bokou ni Kaeru” in 2003.
Aiba, who is more known for appearing in variety shows than in dramas, said that he wants to show his fans a “completely different Masaki Aiba” from his usual self.
“My Girl” is based on a manga by Mizu Sahara (an alternate pen name of mangaka Sumomo Yumeka), currently being serialized in Shinchosha’s Weekly Comic Bunch. The comic is described as an “ultimate love story” about a young man named Masamune Kazama (Aiba). During high school, he had a girlfriend four years older than him, but she suddenly left one day. Six years later, he receives news that she has passed away. In addition, she secretly gave birth to Masamune’s child, whom he finally meets and decides to raise.
TV Asahi will broadcast “My Girl” in its Friday 11:15pm time slot, starting in October

New singles flooded the top ten, occupying the next seven spots behind Arashi. The releases came from GLAY, AKB48, Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi, Yuna Ito, YUKI, Ken (of L’Arc~en~Ciel), and ROCK’A’TRENCH.
On the album rankings, FUNKY MONKEY BABYS edged out a win with their aptly named third album, “FUNKY MONKEY BABYS 3.” The album sold 80,000 copies, only 2,000 more than Chatmonchy’s “Kokuhaku.” Also in the top ten were JUJU, supercell, Mika Nakashima, Dragon Ash, Kalafina, and AI.

Arashi was the big winner with three of their songs making the list. They took the top two spots with “truth / Kaze no Mukou e” (618,000 copies) and “One Love” (524,000), while “Beautiful days” was #10 (422,000). Arashi is only the 5th artist to have the top two singles in a year, with the last one being Princess Princess in 1989.

This is reali super funny. This episode of Arashi no Shukudai-kun was running on live. Nino decided to hynotise Sho into doin a backflip, as Sho juz cant do one at all so i guess it wld be funny if he were to do one. haha.. Sho den pretended not to wake up, so Nino changed it a little bit by making him into another person. haha.. But in the end he still had to do a backflip. haha.. Watch towards the back. I loved it when he went down on his knees saying ” KOWAIIIIIIIIIII”… haha.. oh Sho-chan!

Aiba: If I don’t feel well, I’ll go straight home. But if I’m not tired, I’ll meet up with my friends. But sometimes it’s hard to get hold of friends at the last minute. At times like that, I’ll borrow DVDs to watch at home.
Jun: If I finish work early, I’ll usually go somewhere. Shopping or watch a movie… Sometimes I go alone, sometimes I go with my friends.
Sho: If I finish work early, it’ll be a waste to go straight home! I’ll definitely hang out. I’ll ask my friends out for a meal etc. If my work ends in the evening, I go buy CDs, clothes & etc. If I don’t do so, I usually don’t get the chance to shop.
Nino: I’ll go straight home without hanging out anywhere. There isn’t any particular place I want to go to, so I’ll go straight home after work. Sometimes I eat with my friends, but not anymore recently because I’ve been so busy. I practise card magic tricks at home. (laughs)
Ohno: I’ll not hang out anywhere, go straight home & prepare to go fishing! Because I want to go fishing quicky, if work ends early, I’ll go home straight. (laughs)

Jun: If I wear tight-fitting clothes, I’ll change since it’s uncomfortable. But I rarely wear them anyway. If it’s denim or casual clothes, I’ll just stay in them & not change.
Ohno: I’ll take of my pants & socks, leave my shirt alone. So it’s just t-shirt & underpants. (laughs) You can relax like that ne. But if it’s just underpants, it gets cold sometimes. So if I can’t take it, I’ll wear shorts.
Nino: If I perspire, I’ll change. If not, I don’t change. The clothes I change to also varies from day to day.
Aiba: Mostly, I’ll change. I have various types of shorts suitable for all seasons. As for the top, it depends on the season, it can be t-shirts or sweat shirts.
Sho: I’ll change immediately when I reach home. I wear shorts used for basketball & t-shirts. I brought these along with me when I went to Beijing. Somehow, I can’t get use to the hotel’s bathrobes there.
Q3. When you eat at home, do you…
eat slowly & enjoy the food? (1) – Sho
eat quickly & get done with it? (4) – Aiba, Jun, Ohno, Nino
Sho: Right before I went to Beijing, I had dinner with my Dad, just the two of us. We talk, ate & drink for about 2 hours. And, my Dad cooked the shabu-shabu for me.
Aiba: I seldom eat at home, but when I do, I eat quickly. Sometimes when I feel like cooking, then I’ll cook instant noodles & add lots of ingredients. And I finish it quickly.
Jun: If I eat at home, it’s fast. Sometimes I cook myself. Recently I made hiyashi chuka (cold noodles). Simple soy sauce flavour.
Nino: For me, I don’t take eating as something enjoyable. (bitter laugh) After all eating is just required to replenish energy, so I eat fast.
Ohno: I enjoy eating so I want to eat slowly but… I am always hungry, so I end up gobbling up the food. (laughs) Recently, I have been eating in my room while watching my favourite fishing channel.
Q4. When you are lazing around at home, do you prefer to…
watch TV? (3) – Aiba, Nino, Ohno
listen to music? (2) – Jun, Sho
Aiba: It is my habit to switch on the TV when I get home. And in the morning when I am preparing to go out, music is a must. The choice of songs depends on the weather that day. My mood changes depending on whether it’s sunny or rainy.
Nino: Whatever the TV is showing, I’ll somehow feel like watching it. Just a while ago, I watched Olympics very often. I prefer watching sports & I watch baseball & soccer.
Ohno: Now, I earnestly/ only watch fishing channel. Because I keep watching it, sometimes I feel “I have seen this scene before”. But I won’t get sick of it & I’ll still watch it. (laughs)
Jun: When I want to be at ease, it’s music. When I want to relax, it’s TV. They may sound the same, but it’s different to me. (laughs) As for what genre of music, that depends on my mood.
Sho: Basically I listen to music using my PC. As for TV, I check Arashi’s shows. And usually when I get home, there is only late-night programmes to watch anyway. In Beijing’s hotel, I didn’t get to switch on the TV at all.
Q5. When you want to contact your friends from home, you belong to the…
text message type? (2) – Ohno, Sho
phonecall type? (1) – Aiba

Ohno: I text message more. I usually don’t make phone calls. I use alot of emoticons. I feel weird if I don’t add something else in place of the full-stop.
Sho: A mail is less troublesome/ bothersome . I don’t mind writing long mails but I don’t really use emoticons. Actually, since I change my handphone model, I still haven’t really memorise how to use the phone yet. (bitter laugh)
Jun: It depends on who I am contacting. If it’s someone I am familiar with, I’ll call. If it’s someone whom I don’t usually contact, I don’t know when is the right time to call, so I’ll text.
Nino: It depends whether the person calls me or text me. I’ll return a call with a call, a text message with a text message. I don’t really contact people myself so it all depends on the person contacting me.
Aiba: I belong to the phone call type since long ago. A call is better. Even if I know the person can’t pick up, I think “I can just leave a voice message” & I’ll just call. (laughs)
Q6. When bathing, do you prefer…
taking shower? (3) Jun, Nino, Ohno
soaking in bathtub? (2) Aiba, Sho
Jun: I take showers more often. When I want to bathe, I want to bathe immediately. So it’s troublesome if I still have to prepare the hot water for the bathtub. And I shower quite fast. I am not the type that takes bathing time to relax.
Nino: If I don’t have much work the next day, sometimes I soak in the bathtub, but most of the time I take showers. I want to get to sleep faster rather than take my time bathing.
Ohno: Shower. Takes about 5 minutes. I’ll feel dizzy if I soak in warm water & I’ll get up immediately. So I don’t really like hot springs either. Even in winter, I take showers. it’s good I can tolerate the cold. (laughs)
Aiba: I bathe for about 10 minutes. I like a warm bath. The time I soak in the bathtub is really short, like a crow soaking itself in water, but I still want to soak in a bathtub.
Sho: If I travel, I take showers. But at home, It’s definiely the bathtub. My relax pose is to soak my whole body in warm water, with just my face floating on the surface & I’ll go “Aa~”. It reminds me when I am in my mother’s womb? (laughs)
Q7. Do you do train/ excercise at home?
Yes. (2) – Aiba, Ohno
No. (3) – Jun, Nino, Sho
Aiba: Sometimes I go jogging after I reach home. I started doing so when I was running with Edo Harumi-san in 24H TV. It feels good to run at night.
Ohno: I do 50 sit-ups & 50 push-ups. It may seem tough to exercise on a daily routine but if its just that, I finish it in about 2 minutes. Though I do it at night sometimes, I train more often in the mornings.
Jun: It depends on my work. In 24H TV, I acted as a sick person whose body cannot move, if that’s the case, I don’t feel like training. But if I’m acting as a strong character, I’ll train.
Nino: Till now, I’ve never thought of training. I don’t think it’s necessary & I don’t intend to do it in the future either. (laughs)
Sho: I’m the type that build muscles easily if I train. If I train & I don’t do it continuously, the muscles will become fats. So I decided not to train. (laughs)
Q8. When you sleep, do you…
switch off all the lights? (5) – Erm, all 5…
leave some lights on? (0)
Aiba: I switch off all the lights but I’ll open the curtains to let light come in from the outside. I use blackout curtains so my room becomes totally dark. If I l close the curtains, I wouldn’t know if it’s morning already. And I listen to the radio before I sleep, so I can remember the night radio programme schedule pretty well.
Jun: I can sleep with the lights on, but it’s a waste to leave them on. It’s better not to waste unecessary electricity & be kind to he earth.
Nino: It’s a waste if you don’t switch off the lights when you sleep. I don’t mind if the room is bright or the bed is uncomfortable or anything. I can sleep anywhere. So when I share a hotel room with someone, I can accomodate my roommate.
Ohno: I usually switch off the lights, but recently, because I have been really busy, I fall asleep without switching off the TV. Yesterday, it was showing “Terminator 3” & I wanted to watch it. But I fell asleep the minute it started so I didn’t get to watch at all. (bitter laugh)
Sho: I used to switch on the reading lamp in the past, but now I sleep without it. In Beijing, because I stayed in a hotel near the stadium, the olympic flame helped light up my room. (laughs)

Porno Graffiti‘s “Gift” took #2 with a comparatively low 58,000 in sales, while the “Macross Frontier” song “Lion” came in at #3, trailing by only about a thousand copies. Buono! also made the top ten as “Gachinko de Ikou!” ranked #6.
On the albums chart, Namie Amuro held the #1 seat for her fourth straight week, moving an additional 88,000 copies of “BEST FICTION.” The closest new Japanese release was “Makai Yuugi,” the album for the “Detroit Metal City” movie, making #4 at 20,000 copies.

haha… watching VS Arashi these couple of episodes has been freaking hilarious. Haha.. i mean reali funny.. firstly, as usual Sakurai Sho is juz reali bad at sports… so den when its time to play games, when he volunteers, he gets “ehhhhhhh…” from the audience.. haha… It’s sooo funny… And basically Arashi members get nervous when he wants to play these games. haha

Haha this has got me laughing like mad.. i love this episode. It’s Aiba’s segment called “Ai Land” where they play silly games sent in by the viewers. The scenes shown with the guests have been cut as they weren’t veri interesting, haha. So den they also try out some new games sent in.

This has got to be the funniest prank i’ve ever seen. Haha.. Arashi appeared on their senior’s (V6) program, Gakkou e Ikkou Max. It’s about having male crossdressers do pranks on them. Seriously when i first saw the boys too, i was like EEHHHHHH???? They’re BOYS… USO DE SHOOOOOO…. Really look like girls..

I was reading wikipedia and found out that Arashi had been on this variety program called Tokyo Friend Park 2… haha.. It’s this fun-filled variety show where the guests come on and play all kinds of games in order to win prizes…
Arashi was on it recently at the end of March. It was juz so funny, haha… Ohno aka Riidda (Leader) juz made any possible move hilarious.. haha… Of coz Sho chan was juz as kawaii.. haha…
This is prob my fav TFP2 appearance… They juz bonded so well and made the audience excited. haha.. i tink i watched it like ten hundred times. haha..

Lately i’ve been crazy over this variety show that Arashi hosts… It’s a variety show where guests who come on the show gives homework to the audience. It cld be any question like “Different ways to eat nattou”, “Different kinds of shelters”, “Interesting exercises”… So den Arashi will compile the homework and present them to the guest. It’s super interesting as well as super funny.. haha.. everytime u can expect to laugh out LOUDLY.. haha..
In case ppl dunt noe who Arashi are, they are Sakurai Sho, Aiba Masaki, Matsumoto Jun, Ninomiya Kazunari and Ohno Satoshi.
Ohno cracks me up in this show.. everytime he gets to taste food, he will always say Mecha Umai.. haha which means very yummy.. hahaha. even when the food didnt taste so gd to the rest.. haha..
Sho chan juz makes the segment “Tell me arashi” so silly.. haha.. Sho chan.. kawaii.. haha..

Did i mention that i’m reali crazy over Kinki Kids.. well esp Domoto Koichi.. haha.. I think that the Johnny’s have reali taken over my pathetic life… haha.. Their songs are juz simply nice to listen to.. and also watched alot of their program Shin Domoto Kyoudai.. haha.. sometimes Koichi juz cracks me up.. and i tink he’s freaking charming too.. haha.. I juz love their chemistry together.. they are like a tight duo.
Ahhhh Arashi too another grp that juz got to me recently… Kinda started coz i watched their program too.. haha.. like C no Arashi, D no Arashi, G no Arashi, Mago Mago Arashi and Arashi no Shukudai-kun… they are juz sooooo funny ppl.. esp when they are together.. Do i have a fav?? haha yes.. SAKURAI SHO.. haha.. the famous Keio boy.. the first to graduate wif a degree in Johnny’s… and Keio is a prestigious University in Japan too.. Sho chan juz cracks me up. Sho’s laughter juz always gets to me.. haha.. Ohno+Aiba combi too.. haha.. they are simply funny.. And also they have quite a few nice songs.. which i’ve been juz replaying over and over again.. haha luckily Hansy is not here, if not she’ll scream at me for repeating the songs a hundred times.. haha..
